Parmar Steel is involved in Manufacturing & Exporting of high quality stainless steel 304 sheets, stainless steel 304L plates, stainless steel 304 coils in thickness of 0.3mm to 120mm. that have found extensive applications in various industries. We also deal in Nickel and copper alloy, Stainless & Duplex Steel, Carbon & Alloy Steel, are the materials which are used for designing of stainless steel sheet, plate and coil. We offer various grades of stainless steel plates & Stainless Steel Sheets link ss 310 plates, ss 317 sheets & ss 321 plates etc.

The difference between 321 stainless steel and 304 stainless steel sheets lies mainly in the composition, which significantly affects its properties. Both 321 and 304 are austenitic grades of stainless steel; that is to say, they contain high levels of nickel and chromium–but 321 contains a higher amount at 17-20% nickel, while grade 304 only has 8-10.5%. At first glance, this may not seem like a big difference, but it does affect the material in several ways. Comparing 321 vs. 304 stainless steel sheets, there are some key points one should consider: Their corrosion resistance is almost identical; however, the formation of chlorides enhances corrosion risks when using grade 321; It can handle extremes of hotter temps without losing structural integrity; it offers greater yield/strength under applied stress conditions; And lastly, welders need special precautions when welding thicker gauge sections due cooling rate being faster than that found on mild steel grades.

SS 304 is an alloy of iron and chromium that has become one of the most popular alloys used in industrial applications. It contains a minimum of 18% chromium, 8% nickel, and a maximum of 0.08% carbon by weight. This makes it incredibly strong and corrosion-resistant without sacrificing formability or machinability. SS 304 sheets have great mechanical properties, including tensile strength, yield strength, elongation (stretch before break), hardness (Brinell scale), as well as excellent abrasion resistance due to their high levels of chromium and low carbon content. Its high-temperature resistance can be important for certain processes where the material could reach 800°C or higher temperatures during operation. In addition to its strength and durability, SS 304 sheet has impressive aesthetics, which make it suitable for architectural projects such as railings, trim pieces like handles or cabinet pulls, etc., as well as interior design purposes such as countertops, sinks/basins, etc.

Instruments and construction parts in the food industry, luxury food, film and photo industry as well as for articles of daily use in the household, power station construction. Due to the Ti-alloy, the resistance to intergranular corrosion is also guaranteed in the welded condition.

Corrosion resistance

Stainless steel 321 is equivalent to grade 304 in the annealed condition. It has superior corrosion resistance if a weldment in these grades has not been post-weld annealed, or if the application involves service in the 425-9000C range.

The alloy is subject to pitting and crevice corrosion in warm chloride environments and to stress corrosion cracking above 600C.

Heat resistance

Stainless steel 321 has good oxidation resistance in intermittent service to 9000C and in continuous service up to 9250C. This grade performs well in the 425-9000C range and particularly where subsequent aqueous conditions are present.

Heat treatment

Solution treatment involves heating to 950-11200C and cooling rapidly for maximum corrosion resistance.

For stabilising, the alloy is heated up to 870 - 9000C for one hour per 25mm of thickness and air cooled. Stabilisation is recommended for the most severe service conditions, particularly those above 4250C, and for materials annealed on the upper side of the annealing temperature range.

Type 420 Stainless Steel provides both outstanding corrosion resistance and exceptional wear resistance. To obtain the best possible strength and wear resistance, oil quench alloy 420 at a temperature between 1800° F and 1950° F. Alloy 420 Stainless Steel is commonly used in dental and surgical instruments, cutlery, plastic molds, pump shafts, steel balls, and numerous hand tools. Because of its air hardening properties, type 420 Stainless Steel is not often welded, although, it is possible.

When welding with stainless steel type 420, preheat the steel to a temperature between 300° F and 400° F. After welding, temper the work piece at temperature for two hours. When hot working, it is recommended to gradually raise the temperature to 1400° F and then gradually raise the temperature to anywhere from 2000° F to 2200° F. While working, avoid letting the work temperature drop below 1600° F by frequently reheating the steel. To prevent cracking, furnace cool the work piece slowly after working. Any extreme cold forming will cause alloy 420 Stainless Steel to crack, but it can endure minor cold work.

Used in Food Industries, Chemical Industries , Electrielcal Industries, Genrater Industries, Shaft Industries, Cement Industries, Gas Industries, Power Project etc..

Alloy 310 (UNS S31000) is an austenitic stainless steel developed for use in high temperature corrosion resistant applications. The alloy resists oxidation up to 2010oF (1100oC) under mildly cyclic conditions.

Because of its high chromium and moderate nickel content, Alloy 310 is resistant to sulfidation and can also be used in moderately carburizing atmospheres.

The more severe carburizing atmospheres of thermal process equipment usually require nickel alloys such as 330 (UNS N08330). Alloy 310 can be utilized in slightly oxidizing, nitriding, cementing and thermal cycling applications, albeit, the maximum service temperature must be reduced. Alloy 310 also finds usage in cryogenic applications with low magnetic permeability and toughness down to -450oF (-268oC). When heated between 1202 – 1742oF (650 – 950oC) the alloy is subject to sigma phase precipitation. A solution annealing treatment at 2012 – 2102oF (1100 – 1150oC) will restore a degree of toughness.

310S (UNS S31008) is the low carbon version of the alloy. It is utilized for ease of fabrication. 310H (UNS S31009) is a high carbon modification developed for enhanced creep resistance. In most instances the grain size and carbon content of the plate can meet both the 310S and 310H requirements.

Alloy 310 can be easily welded and processed by standard shop fabrication practices.
